Six Meaningful Images From 2024
Photographs tell the story of our year, capturing fleeting moments and emotions that might otherwise fade. Taking a moment to reflect on them brings gratitude for the experiences and growth they represent. Each image becomes a reminder of where we've been and the memories worth cherishing. After looking back at 2024, here are six images that stood out to me for different reasons.
#1- Concert for carolina
After Hurricane Helene destroyed my hometown of Asheville, NC and the surrounding areas of Western North Carolina, Concert for Carolina was a small beacon of hope. Having the opportunity to participate in the execution of a concert that raised $24.5 Million dollars for relief efforts for WNC, will go down as one of my favorite memories of all-time.
#2 - Getting married
On September 6th, surrounded by a small group of family and friends on an island in Mexico at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, I had the privilege of marrying the love of my life. It was the tropical wedding we had always dreamed of, and the resort was absolutely perfect. We'll be sharing more photos and videos from the wedding in 2025, but it was truly an incredibly special day.
#3 - Fathers & Sons
Luke Combs’ 2024 album release of ‘Fathers & Sons’ brought an opportunity along that had never happened before, I was given the chance to shoot my first album cover. In a last minute shoot, we captured the perfect moment between Luke, his dad, and sons. The album packaging also brought along the first opportunity for a few of my film images to end up in print along with on billboards all across the country. Wild.
#4 - Post Malone
Post Malone was no stranger to Nashville in 2024, spending a lot of time here writing and recording his latest album ‘F-1 Trillion.’ Part of that album included a collaboration with Luke Combs on “A Guy For That.” With less than 24 hours notice, we were shooting a music video for the song, which included Post and Luke going down broadway in Nashville on a flat bed truck. What happened next was nothing short of chaos, but armed with my Leica Q3, I was able to grab a few images and absolutely loved how this one turned out. If you have a change to see his stadium tour in 2025, do it.
#5 - FILM
2024 kicked off with me purchasing a Leica M6 and diving head first back into the world of film. One of the first trips we took this year was to Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards. Luke was set to perform “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman. During one of our days off, I grabbed a few rolls of Kodak Portra 400 and 800 film, and headed to the beach. Still not completely sure what I was doing, I fired through all those rolls.
This is one of the images I captured, and it felt completely timeless. With the old BMW in the frame, it feels like this scene could have easily have been from 1980 instead of 2024.
Portra 400 and 800 are made for the beach.
#6 - MONOCHROM
This image might look completely out of place with the other six, but it’s more of a precursor to where I feel like my visual style is headed in 2025. See 2024 brought along a new appreciation for black and white images. There is something special that happens to the impactful nature of an photograph when you remove the color. Your mind looks at it different, and the interpretation changes.
I recently purchased a Leica M11 Monochrom, and it’s sure to be my most used camera of 2025. You’ll be seeing a lot from it around here. This specific image was taken in Baltimore, Maryland at a speakeasy called Order Of The Ace.
This image also sparked my desire to sell more black and white prints in 2025, more on that later but you’re sure to see this image hit the store very soon.
These are just a few of the images that stood out to me from 2024, I challenge you to take a moment and look back, if even just though your photos app on the phone and reflect on everything that happened good and bad in 2024.
Happy New Year!
